Dear Parents,

Welcome to the February newsletter.

World book Day
March 1st is world book day and we would like to invite all children to bring in their favourite book from home. We will be doing several story time sessions throughout the day and the children will all have an opportunity to ‘show and tell’ their favourite book.

Comic Relief – do something funny for money!
Comic relief day is on Friday 23rd March. As part of the nursery activities to fund raise for the event we would like to invite the children and staff to donate a £1 to dress up as storybook characters. The children will also be cooking on the day for their charity cake stall.

Tesco for schools and clubs and Sainsbury’s Active kids vouchers
The Tesco and Sainsbury’s voucher collections begin again this month. Tesco schools and clubs vouchers will be available from Monday 28th February to Sunday 8th May. Sainsbury’s Kids Active vouchers are available from 15th February to 10th April. In the past we have had fantastic support from parents with our voucher campaigns. The vouchers enable us to claim toys and equipment that we would not otherwise be able to provide and we would like as much support as possible to enable us to collect the maximum amount of vouchers. The collection boxes will be kept on the toy cabinet in the hallway. Please support our campaign!

Chinese New Year
All the children and staff had a great time celebrating Chinese New year by taste testing lots of different Chinese foods, making lanterns and making Chinese New Year cards. We would like to thank Abigail’s parents for providing the chopsticks to help us celebrate this festival.

Courses and training
During January Sally completed her course in ‘Tears, tantrums and tea parties’, Sophie completed her course in ‘How children learn’, an Emma completed her course in an ‘Introduction to observations’.
