Meals and Snacks

Daisy Chain provides balanced and nutritious meals prepared daily by our cook who is qualified to level 3 in Food Hygiene.   We have a 5 star rating in Food Hygiene from Peterborough City Council. 

The weekly menu is displayed in the nursery foyer and adapted to make use of seasonal fruit and vegetables, which we have delivered daily from a local supplier.  We provide breakfast (a choice of cereals and fruit juice): a mid-morning snack; a hot lunch and desert and a two course afternoon tea.  Where possible, we avoid the use of salt and additives.  Drinking water is available throughout the day and children have the choice of milk, juice or water at mealtimes.

Children are encouraged to be as independent as possible, helping to prepare snacks and serving their own meals.
